Celebutards

It's the title of a book. It's the title of a website. It's a title I find offensive. And I'm not alone.

Will you watch this? And when you are finished, Please leave a comment. Tell me, how is this word not mak ing fun of my son? Tell me how you think I"m being over sensitive? Because, honestly, I'd like to know how someone can use the word retard...retarded... in everyday speech. And I don't believe that the majority of people are deliberately cruel or intending to hurt a group of people who are in large part, unable to defend themselves.

Please. Watch it, and tell me how and why you think it's okay to use the word retarded or retard, tard, celbretard or even, the short bus. Leave me a comment. I want to know.

And if you don't use these words, tell me that too. If you are teaching your children to accept all people no matter how 'different'... if you are teaching them that words can hurt, from the deepest part of my heart, thank you for making this world a friendlier and more accepting place for my son.

Keep the Faith,
Amy

I watched. I have a son, two actually, that are developmentally impaired. They have never been called the "R" world. Ever. But, I take no exception to the clip. I'm looking at it as their way of saying "what bone heads Celebrities can be". But I didn't see the actual performance so don't know if they were comparing a celebrity to a mentally challenged person.

So thats my first feelings on it.
